VF Magazine, a now cancelled publication, conducted an interview with Davey (about Blaqk Audio) in 2007 that never hit the press. The interview has resurfaced on this blog, here.
The interview is very lengthy, and while isn't too revealing, a lot of previously unknown is said about the group's origins. Subjects discussed are such as the electronic/synth genre, what Davey takes influence from, and his personal interests. It's definitely an interesting read, if you have the time.

--IF WE HAVE THE TIME. I HAVE TWO ESSAYS TO FINISH (AND START) THIS VERY WEEKEND.
I guess I'll bookmark it. TY, John.
I'm wondering if you're the same person who changed Blaqk Audio's genre in Wikipedia, using that very article as a source.
BA is still electronica, right?
I'm not a huge expert (not even self-proclaimed) on genres, so I don't dare to edit those things, but I like them articles being correct.
But I haven't read the blog article yet nor know what it says about the genres, so.
Speaking of wikipedia, some AFI-related articles aren't exactly, hm, up to par, but I never have the time or knowledge to start fixing them up. I think with some group effort we could get them all nice and readable though. :D?
I keep an eye on the articles and I've had to undo circa 23 vandalism cases and lame edits, in the last seven weeks or so. NO NEED TO THANK ME LOL.
:)
